Residents have a say in urban design and landscaping

To help prepare for the major construction of the North East Link tunnels, we asked people to give us feedback on the look and feel of the design for their region.

The urban and landscape plan exhibited May 11-31, 2022 included designs for new parks, wetlands, walking and cycling trails, local road improvements as well as improvements to the Eastern Freeway at Bulleen and Balwyn North.

Thank you to everyone who showed interest and got involved, including everyone who submitted a submission.

We are currently finalizing the plan before submitting it to the Minister of Planning for approval, and will share a summary of how submissions have been considered ahead of the construction of major tunnels later this year.

The urban and landscape design plans for the other major elements of the North East Link scheme, including the completion of the ring road, improvements to the freeway east of Hoddle Street to Springvale Road and the expressway of east will be developed and exposed for public comment as we gradually bring builders on board starting in 2023.
