Studio Gang is looking for an experienced Interior Design Project Manager with a minimum of 5 years of experience to join our friendly and supportive team of design professionals. License is preferred but not required.
The Interior Architecture Project Manager will work closely with the Director of Interiors Design and the Studio’s Senior Interior Designer to advance the interior architecture of multiple projects across the office. Through close collaboration and an iterative design process, their team will develop a cohesive approach to interiors and exteriors. Responsibilities will include developing interior design concepts with project teams, studio management and client groups; implementation and testing of concepts; guide the design of details/finishes to be included in the contract documents; research, procure and select materials and samples; and maintain relationships with suppliers.
Skills and experience required
- Strong design, communication and time management skills
- Ability to generate and/or identify clear ideas and concepts and develop physical and conceptual links to the overall building design
- Ability to work collaboratively to develop design concepts and ideas with internal project teams and external stakeholders
- Previous experience as a team member on projects for a significant portion of the design and build sequence
- Knowledge of interior design, millwork, finishes and product details
- Extensive experience with interior architectural drawings and documentation on a variety of project types (e.g. cultural, institutional, multi-family residential, workplace, high-end residential)
- Knowledge of the FF&E selection and procurement process
- Experience making FF&E options, mood boards, material boards, material selections
- Mastery of 3D drawing and rendering software (Rhino, AutoCAD, Revit) and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
- Excellent graphic, verbal and written communication skills
Responsibilities
Included but not limited to:
- Coordinate, guide and lead internal design reviews and workshops with project teams
- Ensure that the design progresses appropriately and iteratively through each stage of the design process
- Facilitate communication with clients and the team
- Mentoring and skill development of other staff and team members in interior design, carpentry and finishes
- Coordinate with Studio Gang’s marketing and communications team to prepare imagery and storytelling for external press and promotion
- Work with Studio Gang design management leads to estimate fees, determine scope of work, and prepare and refine interior design-specific proposals and contracts
- Participate in presentations and meetings as needed and requested Contribute to Studio Gang’s supportive culture of mentorship and collaboration
