About the role
RMIT Interior Design is looking for a lecturer who will contribute to the teaching and research efforts of the Interior Design discipline and help coordinate the courses.
The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out teaching activities and for maintaining and advancing their research capabilities relevant to the discipline and areas of course being taught.
Through this range of activities, the lecturer will be required to teach and conduct courses in his area of expertise and assist in the academic, administrative and advisory tasks related to these courses.
The lecturer should also actively promote the discipline by establishing and maintaining links and partnerships with the academic, industrial and professional communities.
In addition, they will need to work collaboratively and collegially with their academic colleagues within the teaching team, and update their colleagues and students in their field or specialization.
As an Interior Design Lecturer, you will be an outstanding practitioner and / or scholar with a demonstrated ability to teach generally in the field of interior design discipline. Additionally, you will bring to the role significant experience and expertise in interior design-related technologies, industry standards, and emerging technologies relevant for the future fabrication of space and time environments.
It is essential that you have demonstrated experience in teaching, course administration / coordination and research, as well as an ability to bring innovative approaches to critical thinking. You will have a solid foundation in social and cultural discourse relevant to interior design.
Obligatory: Doctorate or equivalent in a relevant field.
