job summary

Mantle is looking for a Landscaper/Architect with 4-7 years of project experience from concept to construction. You will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day communication and coordination of internal and consultant teams to develop projects, assisting senior corporate management in working with our clients, and answering questions from office staff as they arise. as they develop their work. In this role, you are expected to demonstrate professional landscaping knowledge and expertise, technical acumen, attention to detail and a positive team spirit. Continuous learning and keeping abreast of professional and technical developments is necessary. Additional key responsibilities include sharing professional knowledge, quality assurance, motivating others, and meeting project deadlines and budget.

Responsibilities

  • Collect appropriate project data, configure and maintain project files

  • Participate in design charrettes; sketch, design and present ideas

  • Help manage the project team’s workflow and production

  • Prepare all aspects of client presentations

  • Research materials and construction practices

  • Assistance in the preparation of specifications

  • Oversee the production of project deliverables, including construction documents and permit submissions

  • Review cost estimates and help find creative solutions to value engineering

  • Quality control review of project documentation and report scope changes

  • Construction administration, including RFIs, clarifications, modifications, site visits and site observation reports

  • Assist with project closeout procedures

  • Proactively maintain and advance professional skill set

  • Help mentor staff as they acquire knowledge and skills

  • Maintain ongoing and positive relationships within the studio, our design collaborators and clients

Requirements and skills

  • Graduate of an accredited program in landscape architecture or architecture

  • Work experience in a landscape architecture or architectural firm

  • Knowledge of Revit or willingness to learn

  • Knowledge of Bluebeam and Adobe Creative Suite

  • Knowledge of Grasshopper, Rhino, Autocad, Sketchup, Lumion a major asset

  • Passion for detail-oriented design and execution

  • Proactive, with a high level of organization

  • Strong communication and organizational skills

  • A love of collaboration both within a design practice and with the wider project team

  • Sense of humor and comfort of working in a small office

  • Interest in promoting process improvement

  • Strong technical skills commensurate with your experience; some experience working on all design phases of a project, from concept to construction administration
