GFF is seeking a Director of Landscape Architecture to join our growing Dallas office. Our ideal Landscape Architecture Manager wants to participate in creating an environment with other landscape architects who enjoy creating memorable spaces with an emphasis on innovative design and sustainability.

As Director of Landscape Architecture, your primary responsibilities include collaborating, identifying and mentoring design talent in our landscape studio. You will provide the leadership necessary for our landscape practice to excel in design, management, technology and services and to expand it through your business development efforts.


  • 10-15+ years of experience
  • A professional degree from an accredited university (BS in Landscape Architecture, B. Landscape Architecture or M. Landscape Architecture preferred)
  • Texas professional registration required with at least four years of experience supervising staff
  • ASLA credentials and active participation in them preferred
  • Advanced working knowledge of public and private sector projects, materials, systems and engineering details
  • Experience in all design/construction phases
  • Experience in coordinating consulting engineering work required (civil, structural, MEP)
  • AutoCAD, Architectural Desktop (ADT), Microsoft Office Suite and Photoshop required
  • Experience with SketchUp and/or other 3D rendering software preferred
  • Passionate about working collaboratively with others and empowering others to use their talents

Detailed responsibilities:

  • Manage our landscape studio, including day-to-day operations, scheduling, reviewing timesheets, and continuously engaging with your studio and the overall GFF culture
  • Participates in client contacts, business development, proposal development and contract negotiations
  • Responsible for adhering to project schedules and budgets through all phases of design/construction
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills for multiple project assignments
  • Help business executives and marketing director identify trends and business opportunities
  • Identification of candidates in landscape architecture and participation in interviews
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Working knowledge of standard business software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.) required
